Backchannel Software ("we", "us") operates the website at backchannelsoftware.com. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
Contact form submissions. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. This data is stored in a database hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States and is automatically deleted after 90 days.
Analytics. We use Mixpanel to understand how visitors interact with the site. Mixpanel collects browser type, operating system, page URL, referrer, and screen resolution. We have disabled IP address collection and all cookie/local storage persistence. Mixpanel does not receive any personally identifiable information.
Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact form to distinguish humans from automated bots. Turnstile may process technical data such as browser characteristics. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
Contact form submissions are automatically deleted after 90 days. Application logs are retained for 90 days. Analytics data is retained per Mixpanel's standard retention policy.
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA to request access to or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email info@backchannelsoftware.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
